What are the best ways to learn how to play the guitar and what are the best electric guitars to learn on?

Ive wanted to learn how to play the guitar for a really long time now and was wondering what are the best ways to learn how to play without getting lessons (its hard for me to get around) and wanted to know what are the best guitars to learn on? Like brand and what type?

And yes I know this is the wrong section.

Okay. you can get a teacher or you can self teach. a teacher would be easier but self teaching would be cheaper. If you want to self teach i would just buy a bunch of guitar books or i would go online for websites with chords and grafts and stuff. unless you already know how to read music i wouldn’t bother. unless you wanna be like a really serious guitar player your not going to need it. if i were you i would read tabs. Tabs are like music its like a big picture of the guitar and it shows you were to put your fingers. i can give you some good websites for that also. if you wanted to get a guitar i would either get an epiphone acoustic or a fender strat pack that comes with a fender strat a gig bag a tuner a small amp and some pics its also not very pricey and the guitars amazing. OK here are some websites for tabs=) below in the sources .

Practice practice practice. You’d probably wanna start out on an accoustic, since amps and electric guitars are pretty pricey. Buuut if you want an electric one, get a cheap one, and a cheap amp, make sure it’s something you wanna pursue before you put alot of money into it. Look up tabs on the internet, and get the program for your computer called guitar pro. It teaches you how to play somewhat.

I’d start out with acoustics (Fender, or maybe something cheaper, like a "Lyon" by washburn, however, that one is very cheap. And it shows.), but if you wanna go right to electrics, you could get, like, an Ibanez starter pack, or a Squier starter pack. They come with everything you need to start playing, and obviously, since it’s electric, you’ll have more fun with it. I wish I would have started on an electric… But yeah, Musicians Friend (Website) or Guitar Center (Music store, if you live in the US) is the place to go. Preferably Guitar Center, because the people there will help you out. And you won’t have to pay extra for shipping and stuff. Hope this helps =].
