What is the best bottle for breastfeeding babies, in your experience?

I’m definitely going to breastfeed after my little one gets here and I was wondering what the best bottle, or characteristics of, is the best for breastfeeding mothers for when I go back to work and am pumping? There are so many brands and types out there, I just want to know what you think is the best and why? Thanks!

Breasts are the best thing for breastfeeding. If you’re using a bottle then you’re doing it wrong. That’s not breastfeeding.

I love playtex drop ins. My sister used them with all 3 of her kids too and still breastfed successfully.

The Soothie brand by The First Years is supposed to have the nipple closest to the real thing. They’re most well known for their pacifiers, but they also make bottles and sippie cups with the same nipple. The only thing I don’t like about them is that the bottles are so wide. All my other 5ox bottles screw right into my pump. With this bottle, I have to transfer the milk if I want him to use it. My son also uses the bottles that came with my Medela pump, and has no problems switching from breast to bottle. He also seems to do well with the Avent bottles, and I have a matching pacifier from Avent that he really likes. Those would be my 3 top picks.

I breastfeed, but when I am at work we use playtex advanced bottles. They aren’t too expensive. Make sure you get bottles that specifically say they are for babies who switch btw breast and bottles and use slow flow nipples.

i found that the Dr.Brown bottles work.they are quite expensive for a bottle, but they worked the greatest. they have a plastic like straw in it that prevents air and bubbles getting into babies tummy. i know there expensive but my doctor and pediatrician agreed that these bottles work best.i swear my daughter was less gassy and fussy after i switched her to these bottles. my experience was GREAT with them.

Hey people she didn’t want your opinion on whether or not it was the right thing to do. She wanted your opinion on bottles. Geesh.

On to the topic…when I first started using a bottle I used the Adiri bottle. It didn’t cause nipple confusion. As she got older I switched to Drop-Ins but I had to stop breastfeeding at 3 weeks. The Adiri is expensive and does have its flaws but I liked it.

I have literally tried ever bottle. Not because my baby didn’t like them but, because I like trying different ones. My favorites were Medela (which hooked right up to my pump) and Mam by Sassy bottles. I liked the Medelas because they hooked up to my pump and were really cute – plus baby liked them. I liked the Sassy bottle because they different nipples on them that baby really liked – plus they are cute. Both are BPA free.

I am using ‘NUK’ bottles. They are designed to support breastfeeding. They work great, they are a bit more pricey then the cheap drop ins but well worth it. They are orthodontic as well, so better for your babies mouth. I love them!

Well, being a guy, I have no personal experience, but both my daughters used Nuk bottles on their kids.

nuk fit the same in the mouth as the breast does. my son had no nipple confusion for the few times we made it through a feeding. also he liked the ventiair ones. well my son just didnt have nipple confusion. he had like 3 diffrent binkies and 4 different bottles and still latched on fine… as fine as he could do when tounge tied. buy the paci with the same nipple as the bottle your going to use. if you plan to exclusively breastfeed until you go back to work. and give your baby the paci to suck on that way when it comes time to switch she has no problem.

the adiri nurser. It is a slow flow negative pressure system. Meaning baby has to suck like on the breast to make the milk come out.
