the real blues came … the real blues came from way back
in the black churches in the time of
slavery. and soon it just took over
the hearts of all colors of people.
not the least great britan who just
fell in love with the blues when they
heard it. now who would think those
stiff necked people could grasp the
blues? yet they did and did a ed
good job recreating it and in a way
brought it back to america for us
to discover it . so, anybody can sing
the blues. when you feel it in your soul.
.
People can keep … People can keep arguing about who’s better than
who,but the fact is,The Blues is an African/Black
American music form. The Whites picked up on it
and made a killling! No one can say who can and
can’t feel the Blues and Sadness has no color limits!
bull419, with all … bull419, with all due respect, what the does George Carlin know about the blues? Why don’t you ask B.B. King or Buddy Guy what they think about Clapton and SRV.
how can you say … how can you say that there is a standard for pain? just because they saw lynchings doesn’t make SRV’s or Clapton’s pain any less authentic.
THE ONE AND ONLY … THE ONE AND ONLY KING OF THE BLUES, MR. FREDDIE KING!!!!! THE BEST. P.S… Pseudo-intellectual deuche nozzles should find another forum to argue about nothing and leave these spaces for fans with positive things to say. jmho.
If i ever hear … If i ever hear anyone say hendrix didnt have the blues or live through them and he is only imitating other people id probably throw up and also i just did seeing that you put steve vai and hendrix in the same category… youre emberassing
Who can judge … Who can judge another mans blues or the depth, SRV had the blues over cocaine? When he died he was 3 years sober. Skin color can’t be the only litmus test. My people picked cotton, chopped cotton and cut cross ties. I’m sure living through the depression made a lot of folks have the blues. I will admit a lot of the great blues musicians have been redone. A lot of times it is out of a love for music and pure respect for the greats that SRV had. He was a great shot in the arm for music.
I hear what your … I hear what your saying but in reality, you can’t compare Stevie ray vaughn to Freddie King or Elmore James or Muddy waters, Clapton is good, so was Hendrix or Steve Vi but none them plays this way because they didn’t live the blues the way these guys did, the oldtimers faced racisim and saw lynchings, now that is some ing blues. George Carlin said it best, it’s not just playing the notes of the blues but knowing wha they mean and why they played the way they did.
Oh yes! great song, … Oh yes! great song, I prefer Clapton`s version though, his guitar is ….well unsurpassable, yes I know is Freddie`s song and that is what confirms Clapton`s excellence. Remarkable shirt collar.
hahahahaha i love … hahahahaha i love his face towards the ending its like *picks a note* stares at camera* ………. looks around….. keeps playing hahahaha
you say that that … you say that that kind of music is no more? that ther arent any artist that inspire the same emothins os the guys you mentioned? bullshit. give a listen to Derek trucks, Susan Tedeshi or Joe Bonamassa .
the problem is we hold some guys in such high esteem, we can’t see the rising stars of today. the next great bluesman is right around the corner, but we’ll be looking so far behind us, he’s gonna pass right by while all these pop-emo bands get famous. what if we did that to Stevie?
A lot can be said … A lot can be said for the blues of the modern 21st century, it’s refined, studied, and well practiced; but for the blues of the past, nothing can compare to the raw (and I do mean raw) emotion and feel of the music itself. Greats like Freddie King, T-Bone Walker, and Elmore James will never come again to this moder era, their legacy is cast, and all we can do is immitate.
not only is freddie … not only is freddie one of the most phenominal and forgotten blues masters ever in our world, but he also plays the foot long butterfly collars better than anyone. not to mention his complete virtuosity of a polyester suit. what a gifted artist. yes, srv and ec are great. when you reach the level of a freddie, otis rush, jimmie rogers, you separate the great players from God given talent.
