I want to try to find a cheaper car insurance and I’ve not used any comparison sites before, are they all much the same?
Also do they pass on your details to third parties and end up getting loads of spam.
They sell your information to 5 or 6 companies who then turn around and sell your information to 4 or 5 agents. So you’ll be getting a large number of phone calls and/or emails.

What state are you in? I’m in TX and they have an organization called the Office Of Public Insurance Counsel. http://www.opic.state.tx.us/autoic.php. It’s a state sponsored agency and their sole purpose is to help consumers in TX compare different insurance policies. I would imagine that your state has a similar website. It’s good to compare the different policies, cheaper premiums can mean less coverages, you have to dig into the policies a bit to see what the differences are.
