What does consumer report say about Mitsubishi Eclipses GT and GS’?

I’m maybe looking at at Eclipses GT/GS to buy after college graduation. I know their not as good as Honda or Toyota, but how do they rate overall by consumer reports guidelines?

According to Consumer Reports, the V6 automatic GT is more pleasant to drive than the 4 cylinder manual transmission GS. The 4 cylinder is noisy and the manual transmission is clunky. The driver seat lacks support and visibility is poor specially the convertible. Reliability has been above average but scored TOO LOW in testing for them to recommend. It is sporty looking but handling lacks agility. It is not particularly fun to drive. Crash tests have been good.

I guess Consumer Reports is not a big fan of the Eclipse, ey!? But like I always say, "Who cares!"

I have the latest issue from Consumer Reports here, and they recommend the automatic transmission GT V6 version over the the 4 cyl manual. It also has above-average reliability.
If you’re looking for a used one, they recommend the 2006 and ’07 Eclipse. (should cost about $10,000-13,000)
Also, it doesn’t exactly have great handling for a sports car, which may not be an issue for you, but be sure you test drive it first.
