I need a good carpet shampooer and can’t find any information from consumer reports.?

Anybody have any suggestions??
I live in a very small town. The closest city is 50 minutes away. I have a Sears available, and a JC Penney catalog store. I try to avoid Wal-Mart.
Renting is not an option, due to the distance.

Are you going to buy one or rent one? I’ve been looking at buying a residential/household model from Walmart and most have 100+ consumer reviews. Just go to Walmart.com and type in "carpet cleaner" into the search…then check out each product. The reviews are at the bottom of the page. I don’t recommend the Bissell "deep cleaner" that’s around 70$, it’s not a "deep cleaner," lol. We’re looking at buying one of the Hoover or Bissell steam cleaners with mechanical brushes for 150$, the shampoo/cleaner isn’t too expensive, and you’ll never need to rent one.

none of the over the counter brands work that well – I have purchased five over the last 8 years hoping they would have improved – but there not commercial enough to do the job – save your money and rent one from Home Depot or some other store – they do the best job – yes they are bulky but they really work and clean the carpet the best –
