Why do people believe Consumer Reports?

I don’t understand why people believe whatever Consumer Reports say.I believe they are nothing but a paid ad for Toyota and Honda.

They say the same thing about Car and Driver magazine. If Toyota and Honda are good cars, and the magazines say that because they test well, that makes the magazines biased?

You are wrong, they do tests, compare breakdown records, compare costs of repair, do overall comparison and give the consumer the data they need to make a positive purchase. Honda and Toyota have long standing records of excellence and reliability with their autos, that’s why they are rated tops in the auto industry.
