Which tips consumer should know before buying a car battery?

Buy whatever battery is recommended for your particular car. Every retailer has a book and they look it up.

Over the years, I have purchased a HECK of a lot of batteries, and have found that the standard factory issue battery lasts JUST as long as any other at ANY price.

I just recently replaced the battery in my wife’s 2001 Camry after TEN YEARS of trouble free use. It was STILL starting the car, but I noticed the cranking of the starter was labored, and I was losing the radio presets every time the car was started. ?????

basically look for the best warranty compared to the price, batteries go out, its normal so make sure you get a good warranty, it is worth it down the road.

Yeah and CCA but if you get the correct group size that is usually not an issue..Usually

    How prorated warranty works.

What’s the cold crank amp rate is (CCA). It should be equal or higher than the old one.

UMMM, you should know that WalMart gives warranty without a receipt and without question, so you buy it at WalMart. If you buy a 2 yr battery, in 1 yr and 11 months you drain the battery to kill it and go get a brand new one for ZERO dollars and start over. The new battery gets the same warranty and you do it again. It will be the last battery you ever buy if you do it right.

take these into consideration before you buy a car battery.
    1. CCA, which can let you use the battery in cold condition
    2. Self discharge rate that decides your battery’s performance
    3. date of manufacture. if one battery is stored more than six months, it means it has self discharge and you’d better not purchase it.

There are only two issues to be concerned with when buying a brand new car battery.

Is it the right size (powerful enough) for your application.
    How good is the warranty.

That pretty much covers it all.
