oh god, the BIGGEST thing i hate about no-physical-keyboard pda’s is how long it takes to type out anything with a stylus. even if you’re sitting down and have full ability to use the device with both hands, typing anything is still a pain.

so if you have a pda and there is no wifi then you can’t use downloaded software programs?

Works fine on my aged Tungsten T2 (I am using LAN over Bluetooth connection, GPRS via cell phone is also possible). Unfortunetly PalmOS version is not that functional like WM.

    Google “google maps …
Google “google maps palm os”. You will need a WIFI connection or other internet access method. On the Palm Centro, Google Maps already comes installed and works over the cellular network.

not with palm tx since it doesn’t have cell phone functionality. If you get a palm device with phone functions then yes you will have to pay, but not with the device in the video.

I doesn’t support GPS yet. Google is working on a mobile version for that, but only for pocket pc.

I do have GPS on my TX with Delorme Street Atlas 2007. I have a solar powered, bluetooth GPS receiver called the “i.trek Z1″ for $70 on eBay that works great.

    no. Google maps is …
no. Google maps is a free app for Palm OS(or any other platform). If you have a free wifi connection, or wireless internet at home, then you can use if for free.

The only way you’d have to pay is if you used your bluetooth cell phone and cell service for the internet connection.
