What is the name of the thing that converts small tapes to normal size?

It is like a tape that you put those small tapes form video cameras inside of so that you can watch them on a normal VCR

Your small camcorder tape is called a VHS-C. You need a VHS-C to VHS adapter.

    VHS-C cassette adapter.

    Only for VHS-C, because the tape itself is full sized VHS compatible. The adapter allows a full sized VHS deck to load the VHS-C tape into its mechanism.

    No other compact videocassette formats have one, because they are not compatible with the VHS mechanism. You need a standalone player or to play through the camcorder.
