Once you have made a sample product, how is the cost rating worked out? Ie, is it by difficulty but then you have to consider the seamstresses skill, is it a cost per seam or pattern peice. How do factories work out the production cost of a product?
Practice will tell you how long any item will take to make by your normal staff. Add to that the amount of material and it’s cost (can be calculated from the sample) + shipping cost etc all calculable and you have the production cost.
After you start making the item and ramp up production manufacturing time and material cost may come dow so the manufacturing cost and often the retail cost reduce.
Small companies often fail early on when they underestimate manufacturing costs / time due to lack of experience.
