What does CFM rating stand for and what does it mean?

I’m thinking about buying a blower for small projects around the house. The model I chose states that the blower has "425 CFM rating." Can anyone give me a clue what this rating means? Thank you.

This tells you approx. how much air the blower will produce.
It stands for cubic feet per minute. A good website for some more info is listed below.

It was a rating that was made up for the industry. It means Cubic feet per minute.
Go to Home Depot and get a Maxx Air by Ventamatic. They are the best for the money.
